2008 July > SNAP'd Around Town

As you might imagine in this day and age, we at SNAP Beaches/Danforth receive many shots from our readers that they hope we can include in the paper. As much as possible, we try to accomodate; however, with so much happening each issue, we can't always include the shots or include them as they come in. Many photos are not of a high enough resolution for the paper - other times, we just don't have space. This month though, we've made space to show you some of the shots that have come our way in the last couple of months. Thanks to our readers for sending them and do feel free to keep them coming, we just can't always promise they'll come back at you. Send high res photos to info@snapbeaches.com and we'll do what we can to put your SNAP shots in the paper.

You thought you'd seen the last of hockey but way back in April, we received this shot of the Ice Hogs who had just won the 07-08 Loose Ends Hockey League Season - their first victory since 2001! CONGRATULATIONS

When photographer, Bruce Bird walked out his door at the end of May, this scene is what he saw. Thanks to the brave firefighters, all the neighbours got out of their homes safely and the flames were contained. Thanks to local fire crews

Trish O'Reilly sent us this fantastic photo that commemorated the opening of the new Ben Kerr Lane. The group sang Ben a song since that was what he was best known for.

Mark Sepic sent this shot of his earth friendly sound sculpture that actually plays in tune! He calls it the gorgeous, gargantuan, garbage, gamelan. Would love to hear him play it.
