2008 July > Olympic Hopefuls

In June, Decathlete, Jamie Adjetey-Nelson visited some of his biggest supporters, the students or Earl Haig Public School. Students have been participating in on-going fund-raising for Adjetey-Nelson such as a school “toonie-drive” that raised nearly $300.00 last month. They have also sent an on-going stream of letters, posters and postcards with questions and support for Jamie. Jamie will participate in Olympic trials July 3-6 when Windsor hosts the Canadian Senior Track and Field Championships, which will also serve as the Olympic qualifier. The students and Jamie participated in a morning “Play-Date” where Jamie also visited each classroom to meet with teacher and students to show his appreciation.
