2008 July > Springbank Street Sale

Springbank's annual street sale is well known in the neighbourhood - so well known that some residents have been flagged down by total strangers trying to secure the date. Now past it's 15th year, almost everyone on the strip south of Kingston Road off Birchmount has something to sell and this year's collection of VHS tapes, skis, books, stuffed animals was no exception. Some of the other innovative offerings were the wonderful home-baked cookies complements of camera-shy Austin; plant cuttings from some of the lovely local gardens; and fresh-made waffles. And the proceeds from Frieda's sale went to support Toronto's German Shephard rescue where her sidekick Reena got her second chance and many more will now as well. Keep your eyes and ears open for Springbank's Sale next year - not only are there good buys but it tastes good too.
